With its heart-shaped face and nocturnal existence this distinctive and much-loved bird has been woven into myths and legends throughout human history. Allied to the goddesses of several cultures, the owl is a symbol of magic and darkness, prophecy and wisdom. The fact that the majority of owl species mate for life has seen this bird mentioned in many love sonnets and poems.

This silver owl heart pendant has been given a part polished, part satin, antiqued finish. It measures a little under 2cm or three quarter inches across its face. It weighs around 5g and has eyes made from 4mm natural, rose cut diamonds, weighing approximately 0.40ct. Obviously, at this price, you are not buying crystal clear, flawless diamonds, but these diamonds are natural. Their internal lacework of fine inclusions, and yellow colour, give these stones the look of tiny drops of golden honey.

Diamond is a Birthstone for April. The owl is supplied on a cotton cord in its own gift box.
