Sterling Silver barn owl pendant with a solid silver chain. With its heart-shaped face, white feathers and ghostly silent flight the barn owl (Tyto alba) is a distinctive and much-loved countryside bird. Barn owls are the most widely distributed species of owl, and one of the most widespread of all bird species. They mate for life and can live for fifteen years.

This silver barn owl pendant measures 3.2cm or one and a quarter inches across its face. Without its solid silver chain, it weighs 23.9g and has eyes made from 6mm hematite gemstones. This owl was hand carved from wax which had a mould taken from it and was then cast in solid silver and given a hallmark by the assay office to prove that it is silver. The silver owl and chain have been oxidised to bring out the details of the carving and to give them an antique look.
It is supplied in its own gift box.
