Blue Beetle pendant. Enamelled silver beetle necklace.

This pendant features a chunky beetle design that was cast from a hand-carved master pattern, then assembled and finished by hand. 
The beetle's head, thorax and wing cases feature hot-glass blue enamel. This technique requires several firings and takes many hours to complete. 
The sterling silver base of the beetle has been Hallmarked and given a platinum coating.

This enamelled beetle measures 2.7cm (a little over one inch) in length.
A 50cm (20 inch), silver trace chain will be included with this pendant.

Enamels are best treated as if they are opals, pearls or other more delicate jewels.
These enamels cannot be easily repaired, so they should be treated as dress jewellery and not worn whilst engaging in sports or performing active tasks.
