Enamelled gold and silver earrings with a blue motif.

These earrings feature hand enamelled discs of 12mm in diameter. The motif was inspired by the 1600s Delftware designs and draws influences from Eastern Mediterranean artists. It was painted into the enamelled discs using the Limoges technique of fusing several layers of very finely ground glass ‘paint’ onto a white enamel background. This technique requires in excess of half a dozen firings and takes many hours to complete. 

The earrings are made from sterling silver, with a gold rim surrounding the enamels, gold posts and heavy gold scrolls.
The finished earrings have been initialled and dated by Adrian Ashley.

Enamels are best treated as if they are opals, pearls or other more delicate jewels.
These earrings cannot be easily repaired, so they should be treated as dress jewellery and not worn whilst engaging in sports or performing active tasks.
