The elusive, secretive lynx can be found living deep in the most remote wildernesses of Europe, Northern Asia and North America. Unsurprisingly, this powerful and mysterious creature has a prominent role in Celtic, Slavic, Norse, and North American folklore and is known in some Native American traditions as the 'keeper of secrets'. The lynx also has a mythical reputation for seeing through falsehood and discovering the truth. This is thought to have inspired the “Academy of Lynxes", one of the world's oldest scientific societies.

This 9ct yellow gold lynx measures around 1.7cm (which is a little under three quarters of an inch). It has eyes made from 0.17ct of natural, brilliant cut, whisky-coloured diamonds.

The lynx has been given a Hallmark from the Assay Office to prove that it is made of solid gold. This pendant is supplied in its own gift box. To create it I have utilized some of the most up-to-date technology alongside some of the oldest skills still used in jewellery and goldsmithing. The original was hand carved from wax before being digitally scanned and resized. It was cast in solid gold which was then reworked, for several hours, using traditional Goldsmiths' tools, to produce a very fine detail. To emphasize the details of the carving, the pendant was given a part polished and part satin finish.
