Gold rabbit necklace or hare pendant with dark blue sapphire eyes on a gold chain.
This yellow gold pendant was originally designed to depict a wild hare, although it is also a life-like representation of a jackrabbit and many types of pet rabbit.

Swift, secretive rabbits and hares can be found in their different guises all over the world and play an important role in the faith, folk law and fables of many cultures. Rabbits and hares were once regarded as animals sacred to Aphrodite & Eros and were presented as gifts of love.

This rabbit/hare is made from 9ct gold that has been given a high-carat gold coating. It measures 2.3cm, (which is around seven eighths of an inch), and has eyes made from peridot sapphires.

To create this piece I have utilized some of the most up-to-date technology alongside some of the oldest skills still used in jewellery and goldsmithing. The original master pattern was carved from a piece of wax over several days before being digitally scanned and resized.
It was cast in solid gold which was then reworked, for hours, using traditional Goldsmiths' tools, to produce a very fine detail.
To prove it is made of gold the rabbit has been given a hallmark by the assay office.

The gold pendant has been hung from a subtle 18 inch long chain with and is supplied in its own gift box.
