There are three (some say four) species of these slow moving, gentle creatures living in tropical waters on both sides of the Atlantic. With no natural predators wild manatees can live up to 60 years and grow over three meters long.
In 1493, explorer Christopher Columbus, sailing near the Dominican Republic, saw three manatees and reported in his log that “these mermaids are not half as beautiful as they are painted."

This 3D silver model of a Manatee measures a little under 2cm. It is sold as a pendant on an adjustable cord, but it could also be worn as a charm on a charm bracelet.
