Made from sterling silver and set with midnight-blue sapphires, this pendant pays quiet homage to the barn owl — ghost of the twilight fields. With its pale, heart-shaped face and soundless wings, the barn owl (Tyto alba) drifts like a spirit through dusk skies.
It is found across six continents, yet is always a creature of mystery, which, in rare grace, may live to see fifteen winters.

Its nocturnal existence has seen the owl woven into myths and legends throughout human history.
Allied to the goddesses of several cultures, the owl is a symbol of magic and darkness, prophecy and wisdom. The fact that many owls mate for life has seen these birds mentioned in many love sonnets and poems. 

This silver barn owl pendant measures 3cm or one and a quarter inches across its face. Without its solid silver chain, it weighs around 26g and has eyes made from 6mm darkest blue sapphires. This owl was hand carved from wax which had a mould taken from it and was then cast in solid silver and given a hallmark by the assay office. It is supplied with a solid sterling silver chain, as well as a more contemporary cord to wear it on, in its own gift box.
