Made in the British Isles. This platinum plated, solid silver Vegvísir pendant features a gemstone quality feldspar in a gold vermeil setting.

Vegvísir translates as ‘way shower’ or ‘trail marker’. Many people may also know them as ‘Viking compasses’, which is not entirely true - other than they do come from Iceland, and Icelanders are descended from Vikings.
The Vegvisir symbol is in fact a magical stave from the book called Huld Manuscript collected in Iceland by Geir Vigfusson in 1860. There's an inscription accompanying the stave that declares that "if this sign is carried, one will never lose one's way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known".
In today’s world, many of us occasionally feel a little bit lost, so the Vegvisir is still a very relevant amulet.

To create this piece I have utilized some of the most up-to-date technology alongside some of the oldest skills still used in jewellery and silversmithing.
To emphasize the details of the carving, the silver model was given an antique appearance by satin finishing and platinum plating the pendant then adding a dark grey patina to the Vegvisir symbol.

The pendant has a reassuring weight and measures 2.5cm, which is one inch, in diameter.

All of my silver jewellery is made from solid Sterling Silver (silver with a purity of at least 92.5%). It does not contain any lead or other harmful materials.
I do my best to insure all the raw materials I use have been sourced responsibly and I always price my work honestly.

The finished piece has been hung from a sturdy 20 inch long solid silver chain and is supplied in its own drawstring bag.

These pieces are handmade in a small workshop and shipped to collectors across the world using insured & recorded post.

Please read my shop policies and the shipping information.
Thank you.
